Hey friends! I am an avid Whole Foods shopper. I don’t love eating out and love to cook meals at home, so I am okay spending a little more money for what I consider better quality foods.
Each month I am going to break down a few of my faves, new and old! And of course a yummy way I’ve used it that month. Follow along for a few of my faves.
With summer coming to a close this month was full of fresh flavors, seasonal produce and something that feels a bit “lighter” after I’m done eating. I am a BIG believer in listening to those cravings and that this month was tacos which I can get SO creative with!
Whether it is toppings, proteins, veggies, salsa’s and even tortillas the options are truly endless. Here are a few of my fave ingredients for this month that allowed me to make such yummy tacos!
These can be a little pricey, but when on sale SO worth it. Seriously such a great alternative for people who are grain free or even just want a change of pace. I do have to say you should toast these just a little before you use them to make them a little more pliable for the best taco eating experience.
What more can I say, avocado’s are always on my shopping list and when there aren’t any that are looking good this pre-made dip is a great option. Light, acidic and just a little spicy makes for the perfect dip!
If you are a sweet/salty kinda gal like me, you gotta try this! Not gonna lie, also love that it is a great way to sneak in some extra fruit in as well. As someone who isn’t a huge fruit lover, I could eat this by the spoonful.
I know, I know canned fish really doesn’t sound that appealing but honestly it gets such a bad wrap. Whole foods brand honestly is HIGH quality and cheaper than buying fresh, makes getting that seafood in a little more accessible.
Honestly in the past I haven’t been a big fan of quinoa, maybe because it takes so long to cook, maybe because I am not the best at cooking it. I know my strengths and quinoa is NOT it, so this help of having frozen actually makes me LOVE it. So fluffy, light and easy. Perfect for a quick grain option.
As you can see I am not a brand name junky! That really helps get the most bang for your buck and whole foods has AMAZING quality, 10/10 would recommend. My fave part about these faves- they are all pretty much ready to go. Minimal prep = minimal cleaning = a VERY happy Rachel.
Also, super versatile. You could make a bowl with a quinoa base and all of the others as toppings, including some toasted almond flour strips. Hope you enjoy my faves!
