I have really never been one for smoothies. When you buy them they are SUPER expensive, finding the right combo of fruit can be tough and lemme be real I am not big on colder foods. I’m a baby when it comes to the cold, okay? BUT this smoothie has made it’s way into my daily routine. Yes, daily! That is how high I rate it.
And let me tell you this, it is so unbelievably simple you won’t believe it. One thing I always thought about smoothies in the past is that they have to have TONS of ingredients to be worth while, but this bay only has a simple 5.
This has been my favorite because it is made of items I usually have on hand + it is a serving of fruit and a serving of veggies, so helps me up that intake especially on days where I’m running around like crazy. Not to mention, hello sticking to that monthly budget!

See, how simple was that? My favorite part about this smoothie is that it usually helps me with food waste. I mean how many times do you have overripe bananas and a big ole’ container of spinach at the end of the week? I know I am guilty as charged and this smoothie helps me actually make use of those foods that are usually just thrown out.
I typically have this as a snack after my work out to tide me over until my next meal, I personally don’t find it filling enough for a meal but try it out if you want a quick breakfast!
I do mark ground flax as an optional in this recipe, but give it a try if you’re up for it! My Pap swears by having flax each day and I am on the same page as him. It is packed with great nutrients, fiber, healthy fats and for me personally makes that smoothie a bit more filling. Plus you cannot even taste it, think of it as an extra little boost.
